A Sweet Pioneer Themed Birthday Party

I came across this party that Rebecca created for her daughter's second birthday. It is definitely my new favorite party theme. If only I had a girl!!!! However this could be adapted for a boy too. I had to share. It is too sweet of a party not to!!! Please follow this link to look at her party pictures. www.faithfamilyhomefriends.blogspot.com/2010/06/blog-post_28.html

Will's 10th Birthday

I know I haven't updated in a while, but this time of year is CRAZY for me. This past Friday we celebrated Will's 10th Birthday! It was so much fun to plan and I really think everyone had a great time.

Here is the invitation that I ordered from Dimple Prints. I loved how they turned out! I love all the fun designs you can find in wrapping paper. I thought it might be neat to use some in party decor. I found the polka dot paper and napkins at Target and thought it would really make the green and orange pop. The straw container came from Hobby Lobby and I wrapped some more of the paper around it and the cake board to add some more polka dots to the decor. I cut the roll of wrapping paper in half and used it as a runner on the tables too.
A simple cake with some slime and bubbles running down the side.

I made the banner with some scrapbook paper.

I put all their supplies in simple brown bags. The beaker name tags came from the Dollar Tree. The candy beaker and glasses were bought after Halloween at 90% off.
The geyser tubes, instant snow mix, and slime mix, was all ordered from Steve Spangler Science. They have tons of fun experiment ideas and supplies.

Here are some videos of the party.

Sneak Peek

I've gradually been collecting stuff for Will's birthday party. The pile of supplies is slowly growing. It all started with some 90% off steals after Halloween! We have got some super cool things planned. I was going to make the invitations, but then I discovered Dimple Prints and thought I would give her a try. She makes the cutest invitations. She designs them and then you simply print them off at a photo lab. Can not wait to party in a few weeks!

A Wiggly Party

Daniel had a jammin, Wiggles party. What 2 year old wouldn't love this? The kids came dressed as their favorite Wiggles character, danced with the Wiggles on the big screen and went home with their very own inflatable guitar. Tina almost convinced some dads to dress up as the Wiggles and give a concert, but they chickened out! Bummer that would have made some good pictures and home videos!

The invitation.

The birthday boy. What a cutie!

Some Big Red Car cake.

Yep, the car was cake too. Not the Wiggles. I'm not that good!

Unfortunately, "Toot, toot, chugga, chugga, big red car" song was stuck in my head the entire time I made this cake. That always seems to happen when I make character cakes:) Anything to make a 2year old happy! Happy Birthday Daniel!

Simple but Sweet.

I've been meaning to feature Julia's work for a while now. She makes the sweetest children's clothes and accessories. Some of my favorites are the darling birthday ensembles she has came up with. I was thrilled when I was given an order to coordinate with this shirt and bib set. You can find her work at http://www.etsy.com/shop/bowsandholdersI wish I would have taken pictures of the cupcakes that went along with this jumbo cupcake for Miss Reagan. They were basically the same only some were white and some were pink. Simple, but paired with this outfit and precious little girl .... they were definitely sweet!

Here are some more of Julia's birthday creations. Are they not GREAT?!?!?!?!?

A Magical Party

Here is a classic birthday party theme. Who wouldn't love a real magician at their birthday celebration? Lawson was the lucky birthday boy who got to play magician for the day. What fun! I had a blast making his cake. What would be more appropriate than a rabbit coming out of a top hat. It even included an edible magic wand.

Thanks Jennifer and Leigh Ann for letting me make a cake for Lawson's special day. I'm sure I will be using this party theme sometime in my boy's future!

Ben's 6th Birthday Basketball Bash

Ben celebrated his 6th birthday with a jammin basketball party. Most sports parties around here tend to go toward an orange theme and orange is a nice color. Daddy is a UNC fan, so after some consideration I thought that Carolina blue just might be a neat color scheme.

Here is my boy in his birthday jersey. The invitation made by the creative Renee at Baby Face Design. The big shorts, big shoe relay. I really mean big shoes. Size 21 to be exact. The pants seemed to always end up on the ground.Funny pictures to send in thank you notes.A little hoop action. The pinata. Tip: don't fill with breakable suckers. It will turn into candy dust after this crew.Birthday banner made with scrapbook paper.
Big brother found this ball in the store and insisted we get it for little man's party.
We decided to offer Ben's favorite concession stand food- pizza, nachos and cheese, and cotton candy.Fun drink labels.I ordered the cotton candy online in clear bags and made labels. The cake. I thought it might be neat to add some Carolina argyle.Ben handing out the party favor, a basketball.

Happy Birthday Ben!
