Reagan's Outdoor Adventure

I had the pleasure of making several cakes for some really cute and unique parties this past weekend. Reagan's was one of them. He had a backyard outdoor adventure. Looking at these pictures just makes me want to plan a trip to Bass Pro Shop:)

Aww, this is so sweet! Looks like one of the guest made a new friend(too bad they had him for dessert later:)

I guess Tabby didn't want her guest to really get back to nature!

A camping themed party is not complete without roasting marshmallows!

What a creative and cool party! I know my boys would love this too! Thanks for sharing Tabby:)

Ahoy Matey!

Shannon asked me to make a cake for her little boy's pirate birthday party this past weekend. The party was so cute. I couldn't wait to post the pictures! Let's start with the invitations-aren't they a riot? In true pirate fashion they were delivered in a bottle.
This table was set up for the guest to acquire all the essential pirate gear.

I loved how she used a black tablecloth instead of the typical printed partyware tablecloth. It really makes the plates and decorations pop. They are cheaper too:)

Here is the birthday pirate and his sis.

The pirate ship cake.

The pirate cupcakes made by a family member. Aren't they darling?

Looks like the Pirate Party was a blast. Thanks for sharing Shannon!

Oh Baby!

I thought I would share some baby shower treats that I have made. These are some yummy deluxe flavored cupcakes for Jill's Shower. The flavors included lemon meringue, chocolate covered cherry, blackberry cobbler, triple chocolate fudge, vanilla bean and strawberry cupcakes. I think these are a nice change to a your typical buttercream covered shower cake.
These were displayed on a cupcake stand and they each had darling cupcake wrappers and homemade baby themed picks.

cupcake wrappers found at http://www.paperorchidstationary.com/

A baby girl shower cake. On this cake I tried a different technique with staggered bows-very girly:) This was also my first attempt at baby booties made out of fondant.

These cupcakes were made to coordinate with the baby

bedding below from Target.

Finally one for the boys! Twin boys at that. Actually these boys made a surprise debut about a week before the shower. Even though they arrived a little early, they were healthy and the shower didn't even have to be postponed! The shower cake was made to match the party ware below.

It's Football Time in Tennessee!!!

Since the Tennessee football season is upon us, I was reminded of a few big orange sweets that I had made before. The 1st cake was made for a die hard UT fan- friend of ours. It's not the prettiest cake, but it is what is on the inside that really counts. This cake bleeds orange. It is a orange-velvet cake with cream cheese icing. The next cake was for a 5 year old birthday boy who wanted a UT cake(we teach them young around here!). I thought I would also share these cool napkins that I found last fall in a store in Asheville. You can also find them at www.jerseynaps.com. I discovered on the website that they have more than just jerseys now! They have everything from Military uniforms to cutesy themed napkins for all occasions. I've got the real thing at home, and I can tell you that they are really cute in person!

Look what came in the mail!

My order came in from Baby Face Design and I was very pleased! I love shopping online. I think it's the anticipation of getting the package in the mail. Ben got this cute lunchbox and tag for his backpack. Will got a tag as well. Renee at Baby Face Design can make these in lots of really cute designs, but cammo and sports suits my boys! She also made me some calling cards. I thought she did a great job. Now I need to make a cake that looks like the one on my new cards:)
